Ops check in

Posted on Fri May 10, 2019 @ 8:02pm by Lieutenant Rosin Raine & Captain Madelina Weisz

Mission: On Slippery Ground
Location: XO office
Timeline: Backpost

Lieutenant Raine materialized on the pad of the USS Triumphant, and a huge grin formed as he stepped off. "Shiny." He said

"Shiny?" The transporter chief asked, clearly confused.

"It's just something I say. When I'm wowed or something like that." Rosin explained

"Ah, well welcome to the Triumphant sir."

"Thanks chief!" Rosin said. He glanced at his orders and nodded. And he made a beeline to the XOs office, following the "bouncy ball" as he called it. He pressed the chime.

Maddy hadn't been inside her office most of the morning, as she'd been moving around the ship doing surprise inspections among the crew. It was quite impressive to see how on top of their game everyone was, and that her presence hadn't bothered them. But now, that was done, and there was work waiting for her in her office. It was never ending really, but somehow, the redhead always managed to get it done in a timely manner, and today would be no different.

As she rounded the corner, the Captain paused for only a moment when she spotted someone standing outside of her door. She found herself hoping they hadn't been waiting long as she continued her approach. "Can I help you?" she asked, stopping a few feet away from the man.

"Lieutenant Rosin Raine, Captain." He said. "I just beamed over from the starbase. I have orders to report aboard as Chief Operations officer." He explained

The Captain nodded her head and entered her code to unlock the door to her office, then gestured for him to follow her inside. "Can I get you anything before we begin, Lieutenant?" she asked, stepping into the room and crossing over to her desk.

"A raktajino if it's alright.' he said, taking the liberty of seating himself.

"Of course," she said, moving over to the replicator to fulfill his request and get a cup of tea for herself. Once they were hand, she made her way back over to him to pass his drink to him, then moved around her desk to settle down. "I've not had an opportunity to go over your personnel record yet, so why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?"

"Well, personality wise I like to think that I m a happy person. Not much really gets me down. I mean it can happen. But someone has to break a mirror tripping over a black cat through a ladder." He laughed.

"I like ops, why else would I have chosen it, Right?' he smiled. "Seriously, though. I'm a helpful officer I like to think. Good somewhat at logistics. Im no engineer but I can halfway fix stuff."

"Good to know," the redhead said, reaching for a PADD settled at the corner of her desk. "I'm sure you'll be enlisted to help Master Chief Barnes a time or two during your time on board the Triumphant. Have you acquired your quarters yet? Seen your department?"

"Not yet, Captain." He replied.

"Well, there's still time for that. Do you have any questions for me?"

"Is there anything I can do ops wise at the moment. I'd like to hit the ground running if I could." Rosin replied

"Just get familiar with your department and crew, for the most part. Aside from that, get with Commodore Aravan for anything further. If there aren't any further questions, you're dismissed, Lieutenant, and welcome aboard," Maddy said.

"Thanks." Rosin replied. He got up to leave
